The session of the Interagency Coordination Council was held at Geostat

On 25 March, a meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council for the National System of Official Statistics was convened. The session was opened by Mr Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia and, concurrently, Chair of the Council. The Interagency Council was established in March 2025 pursuant to a decree of the Government of Georgia.

 

During the meeting, the Chair of the Council, Mr Todradze, presented to members the 2025 annual monitoring report on the implementation of the 2024-2025 Action Plan under the National Strategy for the Development of the Official Statistics System of Georgia for 2024-2027.

 

The monitoring report was prepared in accordance with the requirements set out in the Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Guidelines. The Strategy for the Development of the National Statistics System entails three overarching objectives and nine associated tasks. The 2024-2025 Action Plan comprised 91 activities, of which 86 have been fully completed, while work on the remaining activities is currently ongoing.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of various government bodies of Georgia at the level of Deputy Ministers, as well as the First Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

 

At the conclusion of the session, Mr Todradze expressed his appreciation to Council members for their active participation. Members, in turn, reaffirmed their readiness to continue working diligently towards the advancement of Georgia’s official statistics system.
