National Statistics Office of Georgia hosted international experts’ mission within the framework of the EU funded Twining Project. During the visit, Danish experts held the meetings with the Staff of National Accounts Department.
Issues related to the introduction of the new methodology of the System of National Accounts (SNA 2008) were discussed during the mission. Geostat plans the trunsition to the new methodology from November of this year. The provision of the introduction of the new methodology of the System of National Accounts (SNA 2008) is envisaged under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement.
Implimintation of this project by Geostat and Statistics Denmark statrted in April 2019 and will last for 24 months. The project aims to assist Georgia in further improvement of statistical capacity, in terms of provision of timely, internationally comparable and reliable statistical data by Geostat.
