Memorandum of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the International School of Economics (ISET) at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the ISET Policy Institute. The memorandum was signed by Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat and Ms. Tamar Sulukhia, Director of the International School of Economics.

According to the signed document, the students of International School of Economics at TSU will undergo internships at Geostat, which will help them to deepen their knowledge and improve their practical skills. As Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat stated, such cooperation with higher education institutions is of high importance. According to him, on the one hand, it will promote the active involvement of students in the activities of Geostat, and on the other hand, the agency will enable outstanding students to create employment prospects.

"With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Geostat, ISET and the ISET Policy Institute, the parties confirm that young economists graduating from ISET are important resource and that Geostat will be more actively involved in providing them with experience opportunities; and that, on the other hand, the ISET Policy Institute and Geostat will work together to share knowledge and experience. On behalf of ISET, I would like to thank Geostat for such a progressive approach," stated Ms. Tamar Sulukhia, Director of the International School of Economics (ISET) at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to promote the qualification enhancement of students and the development of appropriate professional skills with the joint efforts and support of the parties. The memorandum will also promote scientific research cooperation, that include the deepening relationship and planning joint activities between researchers and academic staff of ISET Policy Institute and representatives of the relevant departments of Geostat in order to share knowledge and experience.
