The Inter-Agency Council approved the Geostat Action Plan for 2022-2023

On December 29, a meeting of the Inter- Agency Council was held at Geostat, there Mr. Gogita Todradze, the Executive Director of Geostat, presented the draft Action Plan 2022-2023 for the Implementation of the National Strategy for the Official Statistics System of Georgia.

 

The Interagency Council has been functioning since 2019 by the Degree of the Government of Georgia and is responsible for developing the “National Strategy for the Development of statistics in Georgia (2020-2023)”, as well as developing the relevant action plan and submitting to the Government of Georgia for approval.

 

The Board, chaired by the Executive Director of Geostat, consists of eleven members and includes the Vice-President of the National Bank of Georgia, the Government of Georgia and representatives of eight ministries, at Deputy Ministers level.

 

Geostat Action Plan 2022-2023, includes the country’s national and international needs, addresses the data requirements of a national policy-making system, identifies the areas of priority for effective statistical development, rationalizes the conduct of statistical activities and allocation of financial resources, serves as a framework for international cooperation, includes all parts of the data production process and adheres to the latest international standards. The action plan is prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation guidelines. It consists of 3 goals, 12 tasks and 76 activities. Mr. Gogita Todradze provided detailed information to the members of Council about the activities, defining for each goal and tasks, and indicating the responsible entities, date of implementation and budget.

 

The members of the Inter-Agency Council approved the draft Action Plan for 2022-2023 of Geostat, which will be submitted to the Government of Georgia for approval in the coming days.

 

The 2022-2023 Action Plan, will be published after approval on Geostat website and will be available to any interested users.
