Gogita Todradze participates in the Conference of the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Countries

Executive Director of National Statistics Office of Georgia Mr. Gogita Todradze is participating in the Conference of the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes (DGINS) organized by EUROSTAT and Statistics Norway. The event takes place on October 26-27 in Oslo (Norway).

This platform was established in 1953 in Luxembourg. Since then, the conference has been held annually,  bringing together director generals of the national statistical institutes of European countries and representatives from the European Commission, the European Central Bank, the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Georgia was invited to this conference for the first time, together with the heads of the statistical services of Moldova and Ukraine.

The conference is hosted each year by a different country in the ESS and  is an annual forum for discussing strategic issues and current developments in the field of statistics.

The topic for DGINS 2022 is “Innovation management in the ESS”, since the introduction of innovations in the European statistical system is of strategic importance. The conference aims to facilitate active discussions and cooperation on this topic.

The conference will discuss the different issues such as tangible outcomes of innovations in statistical processes, factors contributing to the introduction of innovations, management of innovations and related strategies.

At the conference, the participants have the opportunity to share the experience of the country, to introduce plans and the results achieved in relation to various statistical issues.
