Training on the Implementation of New Technologies of Data Collection is Being Held in Geostat

Date: 16 November 2022

During the week, Geostat is conducting training on the implementation of new technologies in agricultural statistics. New technologies include the use of remote sensing and geospatial analysis in the data collection process. The training is conducted within the framework of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) project and aims to provide the participants with necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to implement a basic land cover classification exercise using open-source remote sensing data and free software tools.

The training will cover the issues such as the use of GIS technologies and remote sensing in the production of agricultural statistics, basic spatial data concepts and data types, as well as supervised and unsupervised land cover classification.

The training is conducted by the experts of the Asian Development Bank, in which more than ten Geostat employees participate.
