Large-scale Training for Field Personnel Continues at Geostat

Large-scale training of the field staff of the National Statistics Office of Georgia continues. The training is conducted with the financial support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Tbilisi and it includes 80 field staff (interviewers, coordinators) of the Survey of Agricultural Holdings of Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions.

 

The first stage of the training was carried out in Batumi and included 180 field personnel from Adjara, Guria, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Imereti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions and from Tbilisi. In total, 260 field staff of the Survey of Agricultural Holdings will be trained within the framework of the project.

 

The main purpose of the training is to improve the knowledge and skills of interviewers and coordinators of the Survey of Agricultural Holdings in survey methodology and issues related to the questionnaire, as well as in modern methods of data collection. The representatives of the USDA will attend the training, and they will share their experience of data collection and coordination of field work with the training participants. 

 

In Tbilisi, the training continues on 6-8 December.
