Introductory Visit of Junkers to Geostat

On July 3rd, an introductory visit took place at the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) for the 4th-year Junkers (military cadets) of the Training Battalion of the David Aghmashenebeli National Defense Academy of Georgia.

 

The meeting aimed to familiarize the Junkers with Geostat’s activities and to promote their awareness of state institutions. During the meeting, the Junkers were thoroughly briefed on the following issues:

    1.History of the creation and development of the national statistical system;
    2.Process of statistical data production;
    3. Methodological approaches and services available to citizens and state structures;
    4.International standards and cooperation.

 

Mr. Irakli Apkhaidze, Deputy Executive Director of Geostat, spoke to the participants about the importance of statistical data in policy planning, governance, and decision-making. The Junkers were also introduced to various statistical indicators and the practical necessity of data.

 

 

This event distinctly highlights Geostat's commitment to an open-door policy and its proactive readiness to share knowledge across all sectors contributing to the nation's development, including the military.
