Presentation of the Results of the Pilot Project on Agricultural Statistics

On July 21–22, 2025, the first results of the pilot project under the Network of Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) were presented.

 

The event was organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Georgian Technical University – Techinform, in close partnership with the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

 

Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, addressed the audience during the event, highlighting the importance of agricultural statistics indicators for the development of the sector.

 

Notably, Georgia was selected as one of the pilot countries under the ASTI pilot program in 2024. Geostat played an active role in providing methodological support for the project.

 

The meeting was attended by the international experts from FAO, representatives from academia, as well as delegates from countries interested in implementing ASTI indicators. Among them were representatives from the statistical institutions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
