Geostat is hosting a delegation from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan

From September 8-12, the National Statistics Office of Georgia is hosting a delegation from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. For one week, Geostat employees will share their experience and work practices with their Uzbek colleagues. This visit is an important initiative to strengthen statistical cooperation and knowledge exchange between the statistical services of the two countries.

 

The meetings will be structured into two parallel working groups. The main group will focus on strategic issues, including the planning and coordination of statistical work, data quality, and the use of alternative data sources. Simultaneously, the second group will discuss sectoral statistical areas such as industry, trade, agriculture, services, investments, demographics, and labor statistics.

 

Employees from various sectoral departments of Geostat will share Georgia's experience with members of the Uzbek delegation. The meetings will cover modern research methods, as well as existing practices for data collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination. The visit underscores Geostat's readiness to contribute to the development of statistical practices in the region and to foster international cooperation.
