“We are pleased that Georgia is hosting this large-scale and significant Forum. Achieving gender equality is impossible without reliable and detailed statistical data. The Forum is an opportunity to jointly define priorities and improve the methods we use to measure progress and identify the causes of gender inequality. For Geostat, strengthening the gender statistics system and sharing international experience is of particular importance.”- stated Mr. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat.
The Forum will focus on the importance of gender data for policy planning and the promotion of sustainable development.
“The active use of robust, high-quality, and disaggregated gender data, supported by political will, institutional commitment, and strategic partnerships, will drive transformative outcomes,” – said Ms. Francesca Grum, Assistant Director of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNSD).
During three days, participants will discuss issues related to data production, analysis and dissemination, which are essential for informed decision-making.
