Mr. Gogita Todradze, the Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), participated in the 20th International Conference organised by the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) – “Navigating the Data Revolution: Innovations and Impact in Modern Statistics”, which was held in Vilnius from 12 to 14 May.
The IAOS Conference is regarded as one of the foremost international platforms in the field of official statistics, bringing together representatives of national statistical institutes, members of the academic and scientific communities, and leading experts from international organisations. This year’s event was attended by chief statisticians, directors-general and prominent specialists from different countries of the world.
As part of the conference programme, Mr. Todradze delivered several thematic presentations, including “New Sources and Tools for Effectiveness: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Statistics”. The presentation outlined how Geostat is employing artificial intelligence to modernise statistical production processes, improve data quality, and introduce innovative methodologies.
Particular attention was paid to Georgia’s experience in digital transformation, which demonstrates that effective and innovative reforms can be successfully implemented even under conditions of limited resources.
The IAOS Conference also provides participants with an opportunity to strengthen international professional cooperation and establish new partnerships in the field of official statistics.
