Geostat starts new child labour survey

National Statistics Office of Georgia began preparatory works for the survey on child labour in Georgia, conducted with the financial and technical support of International Labour Organization (ILO).

Approximately 7.700 households with children of 5-17 years old will be interviewed, with the purpose of identifying level of children’s economic activity.

During August 18-19 2015 Geostat jointly with the ILO conducted a working. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Labour Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. During the workshop the survey-related issues, including the questionnaire, were discussed.

The survey fieldwork will be conducted in October-December. The dissemination of final data is planned for the third quarter of 2016.
