International Monetary Fund experts were working in National Statistics Office of Georgia during 24 October-11 November. In the framework of technical assistance, the objective of the expert’s visit was to support the state agencies within the statistical system of Georgia, to improve producing and disseminating foreign sector statistics, to discuss the capabilities of introducing sectoral accounts. 
The experts of IMF have studied the existing situation in the system of foreign sector statistics and National Accounts. They have assessed the system and prepared applicable recommendations. 
On the basis of IMF recommendations, Geostat and the National Bank of Georgia will implement additional activities, which aim to improve the quality of statistics of External Merchandise Trade, Foreign Direct Investments, balance of payments and international investment position and to develop the sectoral accounts in the System of National Accounts.
