International Experts visit at Geostat

International Experts, consultants from Eurostat, are visiting National Statistics Office of Georgia on May 4 – 6. The main purpose of the visit is to assess the work done by Geostat within the framework of the International Comparison Program (ICP) 2021.

 

Georgia’s involvement in ICP (International Comparison Program (ICP) 2021) is coordinated by Statistics Finland. During the visit, international experts and Geostat staff will summarize the results of the progress in 2021-2022. Based on planning activities, recommendations will be developed.

 

More than 200 countries around the world   involve in the International Comparison Program (ICP) organized by the World Bank. The aim of the program is to obtain comparison of Gross Domestic Product of the participating countries in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP).

 

Participation in the International Comparison Program (ICP)  increases Georgia's involvement in the international processes, as well as the harmonization of the methodology and standards with the European Union.
