The Conference of European Statisticians is an organization operating under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), bringing together more than 50 countries from Europe, North America, and Central Asia.

The conference is held annually and aims to develop statistical methodologies, standards, and best practices, as well as to share best practices in the field of statistics, advance methodological standards, and deepen cooperation among countries.

During the visit, Mr. Gogita Todradze is participating in various panel discussions and delivering presentations to the participants. The purpose of his presentations is to inform international colleagues about recent changes and progress achieved in the country’s statistical system. He will also address existing challenges in different areas, as well as future plans and priorities.

The leadership of Geostat places special emphasis on the digital transformation process, the introduction of innovative methodologies, and initiatives aimed at improving data quality, which are key directions in the modernization of Georgia’s statistical system.

Parallel to the sessions, the Executive Director of Geostat will hold official meetings with heads of statistical offices from various international organizations and partner countries. These meetings will address current and future cooperation issues, representing an additional opportunity for Georgia to develop and implement internationally comparable statistical methodologies, as well as to improve and advance the quality of official statistics.

Elections for the members of the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians will take place on the final day of the conference, resulting in the formation of a new Bureau. The Bureau serves as the executive body of the CES, responsible for planning and coordinating its work program and facilitating the development of statistical standards across Europe.
